Who we are

Nicer Clifton Hill is an informal community group of Clifton Hill residents supporting a safer and more pleasant Wellington Street for all. Membership is not formal; it comprises individuals recognised as members by the group’s organiser, Liam O’Boyle.

References to “we” in this policy mean Nicer Clifton Hill and its members.

What we collect and why

Support registrations. If you register your support via the form on this site, we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, suburb, and email address. We use this to:

  • demonstrate community backing for the proposals to Yarra City Council;
  • contact you in relation to the proposed Wellington Street changes; and
  • display anonymised quotes or comments from your submission on this website, where you have provided them. Displayed quotes will not include your name or any other identifying information.

Site usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is being used. This collects anonymised data about your visit from all visitors. It is not linked to any data submitted via the support registration form. No form submission is required for this data to be collected.

Who we share your information with

Support registration data may be shared with Yarra City Council as evidence of community support. Data shared with council will be limited to your name, suburb, and any comment you provide; your email address will not be included. Council will handle that information in accordance with Yarra City Council’s privacy policy.

Anonymised quotes or comments may be displayed publicly on this website. No personal information will be included. Quotes may be edited or excerpted for brevity, clarity, or the removal of personal information where provided.

We will not otherwise share your personal information with any other person or organisation.

Third-party services

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitor IP addresses for security purposes. See GitHub’s note on Pages data collection and GitHub’s Privacy Statement for details.

The support registration form is hosted by Google Forms, and site usage data is collected by Google Analytics. Personal information submitted via the support form is stored by Google. The security of that data is governed by Google’s security practices under Google’s Privacy Policy.

How long we keep your information

Support registration data will be deleted within 90 days of Yarra City Council’s final decision on the Wellington Street Stage 4 proposal. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see below).

Your information rights

You may request that we delete your personal information, provide you with a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or correct information that is inaccurate or out of date. To make any of these requests, email wellingtonstreetremoval@elyobo.net from the email address you used to register your support, with the subject line “Personal information request”. Register your support

You don't need to live locally to register. Local support carries the most weight with councillors, but broader community backing matters too. Add your suburb and we'll present both. It also means we can reach you with specific asks as 12 May approaches (speaking at council, calling your councillor) when those asks will count most.

Your information will be used in accordance with our privacy policy.
